South Africa expands C&I offer

South Africa is expanding its C&I offer in the run-up to the 2010 Fifa World Cup with new developments including a new airport opening in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, on 1 May with capacity for 7.5 million passengers.

Investment will also see South Africa's main airport, OR Tambo, offer capacity for 21 million passengers, while the new high-speed Gautrain Rapid Rail link is set to commence services this year.


South Africa's upcoming event wins include:

  • The International Congress of Paediatrics in Johannesburg, September 2010
  • The Society of Incentive Travel Executives's (SITE) International Conference, December 2010
  • The International Congress of Midwives in Durban, March 2011
  • The Congress of the International Academy of Pathology & World Congress on Academic and Environmental Pathology in Cape Town, October 2012
  • The World Congress on Intensive and Critical Care Medicine in Durban, September 2013
