Venue Reservations announces 2009 revenue growth

Venue Reservations, the Crown Group's free venue finding service, reported revenue of £5.3m in 2009, an increase of £1.1m on the previous year.

The company attributed the increase to an expanded sales force, as well as a package that allows clients booking through Venue Reservations to choose catering by Kudos Hospitality and Seasoned Events, both owned by the Crown Group.

Venue Reservations, which has over 200 UK venues in its portfolio, has placed events for clients including Pricewaterhousecoopers, Deutsche Bank and the NHS.

In 2009, 60% of its events were conferences, 15% meetings, 15% award ceremonies and gala dinners, with the remainder including Christmas parties, receptions and networking events.

Crown Group CEO Charles Beer said: "Customer service teams work promptly efficiently to secure the right venue for clients and it is this reputation that attracts organisers to venue reservations. We hope to continue our success and increase the amount of revenue we generate next year."
