Co-operative Travel Management backs Hotelzon's new online offer

Co-operative Travel Management is the first corporate to back Hotelzon's new online payment and hotel-booking systems.

Hotelzon Payment Solution and the online hotel booking system will launch in April, and Hotelzon chief executive Jani Kaskinen said Co-operative Travel Management would be the first corporate client to use both products.

Hotelzon Payment Solution for hotel bookers will enable an automatic payment between hotels and corporate planners.

It would make VAT invoicing more transparent and simple for corporate planners, and address TOMS legislation, said Kaskinen.

"TOMS legislation means that if there's an agency booking a venue for a corporate, they can't deduct the VAT any more because they are an intermediary and the corporate picks up the VAT cost because they can't deduct it," said Kaskinen. "With our new payment system, the transaction will always be between the corporate and the hotel, and that means the corporate can deduct VAT because there's no intermediary, which alleviates the TOMS headache."

The online hotel-booking system will enable corporates and agencies to find and book rooms at the 90,000 hotels in Hotelzon's portfolio.
