The collection of luxury properties has seen an uplift in business from the financial markets this year, said Von Essen Hotels executive sales and marketing director Greg Ward.
"Business is looking very positive this year," he said. "In the automotive sector last year we saw lots of companies trying to differentiate the launch of a new model - there was a trend for exclusive use of hotels. Clients are looking for identity so it is not just an event at a hotel but it becomes the client's hotel."
About a quarter of Von Essen's business comes from the C&I market. "We won't adjust that percentage target but we're looking to grow our C&I business this year," said Ward.
The company's next opening will be the Art Deco style Hotel Verta in London Battersea. The 70-room property features the capital's only commercial heliport and is set to open this summer. It will also offer a spa, restaurant with the use of the river and heliport, a champagne bar, seven meeting rooms and a rooftop events space with capacity for 380 delegates.
