The company has launched five major events within the past 18 months in Essen, Berlin and Warsaw, including specialised trade show 5 Elements at the Messe Berlin in July 2009.

Ocean Media European portfolio director Olaf Van Den Brink said: "All our events are growing rapidly. The uncertain economic climate has created numerous opportunities for us to launch new trade events and find entrepreneurial people with the skills and experience needed to capitalise on the market."

The company, whose UK events include the Event Production Show at London's Olympia, is also set to grow its trade event business in the UK in 2010.

The Event Production Show 2010 event director, Michelle Tayton said: "This year's show was impressive and the increased space allowed us to redesign the layout, making it much easier for visitors to navigate. We're out to significantly grow the show again for 2011, using all of the space at Olympia and introducing dedicated sector features."

Ocean Media Group managing director James Brooks-Ward said: "This excellent start to the year bodes well for our business.  I'm very encouraged by the results and proud of the excellent work achieved by Ocean's show teams."
