The agency gathered views from clients and Grass Roots staff about their expectations of suppliers, and selected more than 60 international hotel groups and representation companies to participate in an RFP, which took six months.

Grass Roots rated the suppliers on:

  • Fair pricing
  • Dedicated account management
  • Issue resolution
  • Quality of product
  • Delivery excellence
  • Performance improvement
  • Business continuity
  • Health and safety
  • CSR
  • Financial stability

Subsequently, the agency has created a list of approved suppliers that have met expectations and preferred suppliers that exceeded them.

Grass Roots group supplier relations manager said: "The process has enabled suppliers to recognise the high standards we set, and ensured the selection of like-minded suppliers that will ensure consistent service delivery to our clients."
