The bureau, which is the business tourism arm of Experience Nottinghamshire, was acknowledged by MIA's Accredited in Meetings (AIM) scheme.
The scheme is based on a three-part assessment framework, which aims to improve the quality of the UK meetings industry.
Nottinghamshire Convention Bureau conference tourism coordinator Andy Melton said: "In light of this achievement, we are keen to encourage venues across Nottinghamshire to become accredited, in order to set a county-wide standard."
MIA chief executive Jane Evans said: "Nottinghamshire Convention Bureau has achieved entry level of the standard, which is currently the highest level that suppliers can achieve. Entry level for a supplier shows that not only are they great people to do business with, but they have open and honest business dealings."
