Conference Care managing director Andrew Deakin replaces Grass Roots HBI managing director Des McLaughlin as leader of the marketing committee, and Ellis Salsby, managing director of the self-titled venue finding and event management agency, becomes chair of the training committee, which was recently renamed Academy.

The reshuffle also saw Hotelworld commercial director Ricky Kapoor take over from Jo Williams, of CCD Conference Reservations, as head of the partnerships committee.

The HBAA's additional partnership committee, comprising venue representatives, will be chaired by Hilton Hotels director of sales, hotel booking and business travel agents Gareth Warnock, while Marriott UK head of agency sales Ian Leat will serve as vice-chair.

HBAA chairman Stephen Usher said: "I am delighted at the prospect of working with such an experienced committee to ensure our voice is heard loud and clear in all the right places."
