McGrane, who founded Conference Partners in 1998, has more than 20 years of experience in the business tourism sector.
She said: "As chair of the AIPCO board, I am determined to continue the tireless work of AIPCO in promoting Ireland as a conference destination. Proactively lobbying government, city councils and all organisations concerned with international meetings, along with increasing our membership with quality Irish conference organisers, are top priorities."
MCI Dublin director of conferences Jean Evans has been appointed as the new vice-chair of an executive board that also includes Susan Nolan and Christophe de Patoul of Odyssey Convention Ireland, Ronan Flood of Advantage ICO, Brian McColgan of Abbey Conference and Corporate, Terri Cullinane of Mediconference Partners and Marina Funn of Abbey Incentive and Events.
The new appointments follow AIPCO's acceptance last week into the European Federation of Associations of Professional Congress Organisers (EFAPCO).
