The ICCA 2010 Winter Debate, titled Playing Politics - The Power of Partnerships and Legacies, will take place at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead on 15-16 February and is supported by the Newcastle Gateshead Convention Bureau.

Speakers will discuss government lobbying at local and national levels, the role of agencies and examples of good and bad practice, as well as how the event industry can adapt to any change of government.

There will also be sessions on the importance of partnerships and strategic alliances in generating new business.

ICCA UK & Ireland chairman James Rees said: "Political lobbying can have a substantial impact on delivering events business and this is an area where ICCA members have specifically asked for guidance. The event will better prepare delegates to help them to develop their own strategic partnerships and put together a lobbying toolkit that helps to maximise the opportunities and legacies that events can provide."
