The group's upscale and midscale property revenues fell by almost 11% from £2,971m in 2008 to £2,623m in 2009.
However, a 9.4% revenue drop in the fourth quarter revenue across this sector was a slight improvement as occupancy rates began to stabilise in December, the group said.
In the UK market, upscale and midscale hotel performance improved towards the end of the year, up 2.1% in the fourth quarter versus declines of 8.6% in the third quarter and 10.2% in the first half.
Accor's collection includes hotel brands such as Sofitel, Pullman, MGallery, Novotel, Mercure, Suitehotel, Adagio, Ibis, All Seasons, Etap Hotel, Formule 1, HotelF1 and Motel 6.
