External venues beat offices for staff inspiration, says survey

Meetings away from the office are one of the strongest sources of inspiration for staff, according to a new survey by Keele Conferences.

More than 42 per cent of survey respondents said spending time with colleagues away from the office was their favourite form of inspiration, while almost two-thirds admitted that they struggled to think creatively at their desks.

Keele Conferences deputy head Marcus Wilson said: "It's clear from the results of our survey that taking time to give employees a change of scenery could have a really positive impact on creativity and inspiration.

"We understand that money is tight for many businesses, but taking small steps to take a break from their normal surroundings could work wonders."

Keele Conferences occupies a 617-acre estate in Staffordshire, including Keele Hall, where a £300,000 refurbishment was recently completed.
