Plans include the opening of a banquet and conference facility in April as part of the Sussex County Cricket Club's two-year £8m development.
The project will also see new South and South West stands, and the redevelopment of the members' pavilion increasing the capacity of the two existing rooms and creating a new private reception room in the old stables.
The Brighton Centre has been awarded almost £1m of additional funding for redevelopment plans that will include improving the venue's public areas, upgrading the existing break-out areas and the addition of al fresco coffee shops.
Visit Brighton convention bureau sales manager Darren Johnson commented: "We are delighted to announce that several of our most prestigious venues will look to develop and evolve their meeting, event and conference facilities over the coming year, further enhancing the destination's already substantial C&I product."
Additional developments will include a new meeting space for 100 delegates in February at Myhotel Brighton near the Brighton Dome, plus a refurbishment of Hilton Brighton Metropole's 75 sea-facing bedrooms this month.
