Welcome to Yorkshire's newly published findings on business tourism in 2008 showed that the number of conferences and events in the region rose from 172,000 in 2007 to 180,000 in 2008, while delegate numbers rose by 500,000 to ten million.
Venues surveyed, including City Hall Sheffield , said the growth trend had continued in 2009.
Dominic Stokes, general manager of SIV Conferencing and Events and City Hall Sheffield, said: "We are continuing to see real growth in our business events. Enquiries are pouring in."
The destination will showcase its offer at International Confex 2010 next month.
Welcome to Yorkshire chief executive Gary Verity said: "The region is becoming increasingly popular with businesses, but we intend to hit our message home when we take the Yorkshire brand to London."
