Excel creates in-house AV team

Excel London has taken its AV in house by creating a new in-house team called Excel London Audio Visual Services.

The venue has also signed a new five-year agreement with Blitz Communications to support the in-house team for equipment hire and services. 

The move sees former Blitz AV business development manager Billy O'Connell and technician Richard Darrington transfer to the Excel team.

Excel London services and 2012 games director James Mark said: "Over the years, we have brought a variety of venue services in-house and these have proved to be extremely effective in ensuring that we maintain consistently high service levels across the whole business. The creation of this new team will allow us to provide a more seamless service for all our customers and will be a crucial aspect in developing our service provision for the new ICC."

The venue revealed that it had signed a deal with a major hotel brand to open a £65m property next to the conference centre earlier this month.
