C&IT Power 50 2009 - Shortlist revealed

C&IT has today unveiled the 100 most nominated names in the hunt to find this year's Power 50 - the 50 most influential figures in the UK events industry.

After several months of frenzied nominations, both online and at live events including the C&IT Conference and Event UK in September, and C&IT Corporate Forum earlier this month, nominations are now closed and it's time to vote for the final 50.

Said C&IT editor Yasmin Arrigo: "The search for this year's Power 50 began in September and over 1,000 readers have already voted for the individuals they consider to be the leading players in the industry. We look forward to seeing who they rank as number one."

This year's Power 50 has seen a record number of readers voting, and Twitter, LinkedIn and other social networking sites clearly played a part in this year's ranking, with some dedicated external email campaigns from both agencies and venues keen to shine the spotlight on their leaders.

The shortlist will be live until midday on Tuesday 15 December, with the final vote to be made at an exclusive interactive launch event at Dukes in London that evening.
