The Dusit Thani Sanya is scheduled to open in December 2010 on the east coast of Hainan Island. Overlooking the South China Sea, the 160-room property will incorporate 22 separate villas, a spa and meeting facilities.

Dusit International CEO Chanin Donavanik said: "We are confident of bringing our very best to make the Dusit Thani Sanya the most successful resort on Hainan Island."

The hotel group, which operates 18 properties in Thailand, is currently expanding into other parts of Asia, India and the Middle East.

The Dusit Princess City Centre opens in Dubai next month, followed by the Dusit Thani Lakeview Cairo in January and the Dusit Devarana New Delhi in May.

In 2011, the group plans to unveil the Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi, Dusit Devarana Jaipur and Dusit Devarana Rishikesh.
