London-based MCM won its pitch to become approved supplier for event production with Tesco.
Tesco internal communications events manager Kate Conway said MCM Productions impressed Tesco with its professionalism and understanding of the brand's "DNA".
"For its first event with us, MCM suggested two stage sets, both of which showed immense creativity, and its proposal document featured our Tesco branding - not the MCM branding - which made it stand out from the start," she said. "MCM beat tough competition to become our approved event production supplier."
It is understood that BSI and Bluehat UK are among the other agencies that were awarded approved supplier status for Tesco.
MCM business development manager Rob Morrison said he believed the approved status meant an internal Tesco system would direct its staff to MCM when they were seeking external event production services. "We are working with Tesco on an event in early November in Telford for a department within the company," said Morrison.
Morrison said Tesco was a new client for MCM and the agency had been "courting" the supermarket giant for the past 16 months.
