PLG Marketing Associates, DF Venues, IMG and Eventworld also attended the event, which was designed to promote Cyprus to the UK travel industry.

The Mediterranean, foodie-themed event included cookery demonstrations, wine- and herbal tea-tasting, pottery-making and a masseuse.

Britain's Got Talent star Stavros Flatley also performed at the event, which represented Limassol, Paphos, Troodos, Agia Napa-Protaras, the Cyprus Agrotourism Company, the Cyprus Association for Cultural and Special Interest and the Cyprus Incentives and Meetings Associates (CIMA).

Cyprus Tourism Organisation assistant director Lillian Panayi said: "The purpose of this event was to promote the island's diversity using a ‘gastronomy' theme. We wanted to reinforce the fact that while the island retains its traditions, it has also invested heavily in creating a modern and upmarket tourist product."
