HBAA chairman Steve Ockerby said: "The BT Convention Centre Liverpool is highly regarded for its exacting service standards and commitment to sustainability in the meetings and events market. We are very much looking forward to working with the team in Liverpool and helping to drive the professionalism and standards associated with the HBAA Code of Conduct."

BT Convention Centre general manager Jacquie Rogers added: "Agents play an important part in our business mix and through the HBAA we can ensure we continue to benefit from this vital revenue stream."

  • HBAA was formed in 1997 and has more than 75 agent members and 200 Hotel Charter Partners
  • Its annual buying power is more than £2.1bn
  • Member agents specialise in making hotel accommodation, conference and event reservations
  • Charter Partners include hotel chains, training centres and independent hotels and venues.
