The bureau, which is the business-tourism arm of Experience Nottinghamshire, will provide accommodation and conferencing facilities for the teams.

Nottingham will be the first UK city to host the women' hockey tournament, which will see the top six teams in the world competing at Highfields Hockey Club.

Nottinghamshire Convention Bureau conference-tourism co-ordinator Andy Melton said: "We'll be accommodating around 150 players, coaches and physiotherapists at hotels across the city. On top of that, we also have the officials, VIPs and sporting media, not to mention the thousands of hockey fans expected to travel to Nottingham to support their country."

The contract includes planning three conferences connected to the tournament, to take place at the Days Hotel and the Village Hotel and Leisure Club.

The Nottinghamshire Convention Bureau previously supplied accommodation for England Hockey's international friendly against Australia earlier this year.
