AIBTM to launch in 2011

Reed Travel Exhibitions has announced that the inaugural Americas Incentive Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition (AIBTM) will take place in Baltimore, Maryland in 2011.

The show was set to launch in June 2010 but was postponed earlier this year due to the worldwide economic downturn. It will now be held 21-23 June 2011, and the 19-21 June the following year.

Reed Travel Exhibitions Meetings and Incentive Events chairwoman Vanessa Cotton said: "We now feel that it is an appropriate time to announce the launch of AIBTM.  When the global economic downturn hit the industry, we had to postpone the event, but it was always our intention to consider 2011 as our new goal for launch."

Visit Baltimore president and chief executive Tom Noonan said: "This is a major coup for Baltimore. We are delighted that Reed Travel Exhibitions has demonstrated its commitment to our city and belief in the resurgence of the US economy."

Reed Travel Exhibitions' portfolio also includes EIBTM in Barcelona, GIBTM in Abu Dhabi, and CIBTM in Beijing.
