Gaining new business in the downturn and maintaining companies' reputations are the top concerns for event planners looking towards 2010.

In a session chaired by COI's Simon Hughes at C&IT's Innovation In Events conference, over 20% of the audience identified new business concerns and maintaining reputations as their key concerns for the forthcoming 12 months.

The majority of the audience at the QEII Conference Centre, London were confident about surviving the tougher economic climate but over a third of the room stated that the number of events taking place this year had shrunk by up to 15%, with 31% seeing a decrease in event spend of up to 15% against 2008 levels.
