Accor's hotel revenue for the first half of 2009 was down 9.6% on the first half of 2008, the group has revealed.

Luxury and mid-range hotels in the group saw revenues fall by 11.9% to £1,472m over the same period.

The group's London luxury and mid-range hotels hotels saw revenue per available room fall by 7.2%, compared with a 19.2% decrease across the rest of the country.

Accor's economy hotels' revenue fell by 7.6% to £781m.

Accor's hotels brands include Sofitel, Pullman, MGallery, Novotel, Mercure, Suitehotel, Ibis, All Seasons, Etap Hotel, Formule 1 and Motel 6 brands.

"With visibility in the hotel business still low, the business remains badly hit by the economic environment and has not yet showed signs of stabilising in most countries," the report concluded.
