Insolvency practitioners Middleton Partners confirmed it had been appointed to manage the event agency and caterer's case.

Middleton Partners said it was currently preparing documents ahead of a meeting to discuss the company's situation on 4 August.

Red Snapper Events managing director Damian Clarkson was unavailable for comment.

Clarkson has also stepped down from his role as ISES vice-president of education, a role he took up just last week.

ISES vice president communications Mike Fletcher said Clarkson had decided to step down "because he was no longer in a position to fulfill his responsibilities to ISES members".

Red Snapper Events recruited former Inc Group catering operations head John Stockton to the post of commercial director in January.

Clarkson said of Stockton's appointment at the time: "John is a hugely respected figure in the industry - his appointment sends a clear message that we are growing from strength to strength."
