The oil company's event was attended by more than 2,000 employees, contractors and their family and friends, who took over the Pembrokeshire park's rides for the evening.

Murco HR assistant Samantha Garrity said: "We chose Oakwood because it has capacity for large numbers and it is family-friendly, and caters to people of all ages. The staff were polite and friendly - we were impressed. The event was successful and we had positive feedback."

Milford Haven Refinery employee Alan Thomas said: "It was a great evening out, the staff were very grateful to Murco for arranging this.''

John Llewellyn, the refinery's general services manager, said the evening was a success. "It was our way of saying thank you to our workforce. Everyone had a great night out,'' he said.
