JW Marriott and Ritz-Carlton's joint statement said the explosions occurred at their hotels at 7.48am local time in Jakarta.
"Our deepest sympathies go out to the victims and their families of this tragic incident. Police responded immediately to and sealed off the area. Guests at both hotels have been evacuated. The guests have been moved to a secure location. We are monitoring the situation and working closely with the authorities. As always, the safety and security of our guests and associates is a high priority," the statement says.
At least nine people - including foreigners - were killed and 48 injured in the blasts, it has been reported.
