Pat Cash, the former Wimbledon tennis champion, is to spearhead a new campaign for Malta. The tennis star is expected to visit the Maltese islands in October as part of a drive to promote the destination to the UK market.

Malta Tourist Office's MICE senior manager Marie Anne Barthet Brown commented: "we were delighted to find out that Pat already knew about the islands, as he had a Maltese school friend. We hope his trip will keep the spotlight on Malta and highlight the destination's diverse appeal."

Cash met 24 event professionals at this week's Fortis Bank Tennis Classic at the Hurlingham Club where sponsor Malta Tourism Authority hosted two tables.
