Royal Aeronautical Society chooses Manchester Central Convention Centre for 2009 conference

The Royal Aeronautical Society has chosen Manchester Central Convention Complex to host the 2009 Council of European Aerospace Societies (CEAS) Air and Space Conference.

Space travel and military air-power development, as well as environmental and technical challenges in the aeronautical industry, are among the topics that will be tackled at the conference entitled New Beginnings: Challenges for Aerospace Innovation.

Up to 1,000 aerospace professionals, companies and organisations are anticipated to attend the conference on 26-29 October.

Royal Aeronautical Society conference and events manager Lorraine Reese said: "CEAS 2009 will offer companies, research and academic institutions and the society's partner nations a unique platform to showcase their brands, products and technologies to the aerospace industry."

The conference includes a gala dinner at the Concorde Conference Centre at Manchester Airport's aviation viewing park.
