The Bank's former business development director, Richard McHardy has been recruited by fellow agency Innovision to grow its corporate events business.

McHardy said he was headhunted by the London agency to the post of business development director and appointed to its senior management team.

His post is a new role that Innovision has created partly to grow corporate business-to-business events, which currently makes up about 10% of Innovision's work.

McHardy said he hoped to grow that to 15% - 20% in the next 18 months, as well as to expand its work in other sectors. The BBC is among Innovision's recent client wins.

As part of the drive for corporate business, Innovision is partnering with recruitment company Odgers Berndtson, a move that McHardy will spearhead. The firms plan to run an event in September to network with each other's clients.

"The breadth and quality of the work that Innovision is producing is exciting and the new business potential is exponential," said McHardy.

Innovision chief executive Andrew Douglass said: "Richard has had a successful career and worked with some of the best agencies in the industry. He is at the top of his game."

Innovision employs 32 staff and has plans for further recruitment.

The Bank was unavailable for comment on McHardy's departure.
