Marriott International announced plans at Imex to roll out its 'green events' concept across all of its Continental Europe properties.
Part of the hotel group's environmental strategy, the green events concept aims to help planners reduce the environmental impact of their events.
It includes products and services such as 100% Forest Stewardship Council-certified stationary, environmentally-friendly presentation materials, access to recycling contatiners in or near meeting rooms, fresh and seasonal fruit and produce, and paperless event proposals.
These will be provided as standard across all Continental Europe JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Renaissance Hotels & Resorts and Courtyard by Marriott Hotels.
As an added value, hotels can also choose to offer services and products including digital signage, fair trade coffee, nametag collection bins and tickets for public transportation.
The European launch of green events follows the successful roll out of the strategy across the US last year.
