MCI announced that its 2008 gross profit was up 16% year-on-year to 58.9m euros, while turnover increased 15.7% to 210.2m.

In a mid-year update, released at Imex in Frankfurt, the event management agency revealed that corporate clients represented 55% of revenues, with the remainder from association business.

The Asian operations in particular recorded strong growth during the year, bringing in gross profit of 3.3m euros, a 182% increase over 2007.

MCI said that while 30% of this growth could be attributed to organic growth, 70% was due to the opening of new offices including MCI Bengaluru, MCI Delhi and MCI Hong Kong.

The company also announced the opening of a new MCI French Riviera office at Imex. The new office in the South East of France will open on 1 June and adds to the existing Paris, Lyon and recently launched Montpelier offices.
