The Asian Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus (AACVB) has relaunched to grow the market share of global business events to the continent.

The eight bureaus driving the association are from China, Hong Kong, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. These CVBs will work together to establish a shared data bank of buyers and will implement a jointly branded marketing campaign to raise the region's industry presence.

AACVB chairperson Suprabha Moleeratanond of the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau commented: "Our aim is to increase the competitiveness and drive MICE business to our region. The bureaus will put cooperation ahead of competition and raise the level of sophistication of the meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions sectors in Asia."
