Imex becomes first C&I trade show to offer green energy

Imex has become the first C&I trade show to offer green energy - hydroelectric power - to exhibitors, as part of its commitment to sustainability.

This years show, which kicked off this morning at Messe Frankfurt, will feature new 'green' workshops twice a day in the Corporate Responsibility Centre.

The Convention Industry Council will also be holding its first ever European Apex City Discussion group on green meeting standards at the show.

Other green practices for 2009 include the introduction of badge lanyards made entirely from plant silk, recyclable luggage tags coated in corn-starch laminate, biodiesal courtesy buses, locally sourced food and catering, printed products and bags made of sustainably sourced and recyled materials and recycling bins placed throughout the hall.
