The European Society for Organ Transplantation (ESOT) has appointed Congrex to run its first association event to be held in the UK.

The Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre (SECC) in Glasgow will host the four-day event in September 2011.

ESOT executive officer Annalisa Ponchia said Congrex was appointed because of its in-depth knowledge of the destination and its experience in managing similar-sized events in Glasgow.

Congrex UK sales director Jane Cunningham said the congress focused on a topical area of medicine and it was anticipated that it would draw a record number of delegates.

"Congrex is looking forward to working with the ESOT council, local committee and city partners to make the first ESOT conference to be held in the UK a success," she said.
