Barclays raises £20,000 at charity event

Inaugural Stuart Feakins Trust dinner attracts 216 guests

Barclays events team helped raise more than £20,000 for the Stuart Feakins Trust at the charity's inaugural fundraising dinner on Friday night.

The event, held at One Whitehall Place, attracted 216 guests in London, with support from industry companies including Stagestruck, Crayon, Lodestar, Zibrant, HBI, Line Up, De Vere, Hilton and Marriott.

"It was an amazing night," said Barclays head of events Sarah Wright. "I was overwhelmed by the huge support we had from our partners in the event industry, and most importantly everyone had a great time."

Guests enjoyed a motivational speech from paralympic champion Marc Woods, and bid for 70 lots in the charity auction, with prizes including hotel nights in the UK and overseas, afternoon tea at Browns and tickets to a film premiere.

Money raised by the auction and dinner will be used to support young people in Hackney through a social experiences and activity programmes. Visit the charity's web site to find out about other fundraising opportunities.
