The Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) is no longer advising against all but essential travel to Mexico, following the global outbreak of swine flu.

The FCO revised its travel advice late last week. A statement on the organisation's website says: "Following a decline in the number of reported new swine influenza cases in Mexico since its peak on 26 April 2009, we no longer advise against all but essential travel."

Grass Roots Eventcom was among the UK-based agencies monitoring the virus, which prompted Royal Caribbean Cruises to suspend port calls in Mexico last month.

Grass Roots Eventcom said in a statement on its website that it was treating the outbreak with due consideration.

"We are regularly monitoring the situation and are in contact with the relevant health authorities, including the World Health Organisation," it said. "No current programmes are affected and, at present, all events are taking place as planned. We will, however, advise clients immediately should we be informed that there is any specific concern relating to their event."
