FRANCE: Paris-based DMC Lafayette Travel is set to expand into the South of France following the demise of LSO.
The DMC will open an office in Monaco in September and a Cannes base by the end of the year. A Marseille office is also in the planning.
The expansion is on the back of the recent closure of South of France specialist ground handler LSO International. The DMC which merged with Menno Meyer Associates in October 2008, has been placed into liquidation.
Lafayette Travel's sales director Cyril de Fontenay commented: "There is a gap in the market due to what happened at LSO, so we will be focusing our efforts on expanding in to the South of France, initially in Monaco and then Cannes and Marseille."
