ROMANIA: Nespresso, the Nestle-owned machine coffee company, has appointed Millenium Communications to handle its live events in Romania.
The agency was awarded the business after it won the account for Brands International, Nespresso's importer and distributor, following a pitch against undisclosed agencies.
The deal will see Millenium Communi-cations oversee all aspects of Nespresso's consumer marketing including its events, marketing and PR programme.
Nespresso, a recent entrant into the Romanian market, is distributed by holding company Brands International. It was looking for an agency that could generate awareness in this emerging market through a mix of press events and PR campaigns.
Millenium is one of Romania's leading agencies. This latest win adds to a roster of clients that includes Mercedes-Benz Romania, Samsung, Absolut and Glenfiddich.
Millenium director Bogdan Theodor Olteanu said: "Nespresso is one of the best built brands in the world. It is associated with elegance and luxury. Communicating for Nespresso is like being invited to join a very exclusive club."
Under the same contract, Millenium will handle marketing and press events for a number of other labels in the Brands International portfolio. They include Parisian fashion brand St Dupont and Cuban cigar-maker Habanos.
Nespresso is Nestle's global leader in machine coffee with more than 1,700 employees. It currently sells in more than 50 countries.
