Sodexo Prestige has won a £3m contract to provide catering services to the Great North Museum: Hancock in Newcastle.

The three-year deal, worth about £3m in total turnover, also contracts the firm to provide sales and marketing services to the museum, which is scheduled to open on 23rd May.

The firm will also manage a range new event spaces, including the Clore Learning Suite and the Hancock Café as part of the contract.

Sodexo Prestige operations director David Johnson said: "We are extremely proud to have been awarded such a prestigious contract for a unique and important venue in Newcastle."

Great North Museum: Hancock trading manager Jon Walker said that the £26m venue would showcase a range of natural and cultural objects including Egyptian mummies, a replica of a Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton and a large-scale interactive model of Hadrian's Wall.
