Grass Roots Eventcom is among the UK-based agencies monitoring the unfolding swine flu crisis and travel advice for Mexico.

The World Health Organisation has raised its pandemic threat alert phase to level four due to the outbreak, and the
Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) has responded by advising against all but essential travel to Mexico.

The FCO’s website states that: British nationals resident in or visiting Mexico may wish to consider whether they should remain in Mexico at this time.

Although it did not currently have any clients on events in Mexico, Grass Roots Eventcom said in a statement on its website that it was treating the current outbreak of swine flu with due consideration.

We are regularly monitoring the situation and are in contact with the relevant health authorities including the WHO, the statement said. No current programmes are affected and, at present, all events are taking place as planned. We will, however, advise clients immediately should we be informed that there is any concern relating to their event.
