Catherine Gibson: Iris secures Sony marketer to drive Sydney-based experiential operation

Former Sony marketer Catherine Gibson has been appointed to lead a new experiential operation for global independent marketing agency Iris.
 
Iris, whose clients include Sony Ericsson, Adidas and Shell, said the company was investing in experiential marketing following a rise in demand for sales-led strategies.

Iris Asia Pacific chief executive Richard Bleasdale said: "As the market changes, we are focusing on giving clients real-time, integrated solutions to their business challenges. Catherine will contribute directly to this focus and help us in our drive to offer clients a significantly better global marketing agency option."
 
As director of Iris Experience in Sydney, Gibson will oversee all brand experience, events, sponsorship activation, sampling and property creation for clients.

The role sees her return to her native Australia from the UK, where she had been Sony Electronics UK sponsorship and events manager since 2007.

Gibson has more than 11 years of experience in delivering live marketing solutions across Australia, the Middle East and Europe. 

Iris is expected to announce more senior appointments in the coming weeks.
