Hyatt Regency makes Russian debut in Ekaterinburg

Hyatt Regency Ekaterinburg offers 296 rooms and 2,500sqm of event space

The Hyatt Regency brand has made its Russian debut this week with the opening of the 296-room Hyatt Regency Ekaterinburg.

The 20-storey hotel has 56 suites, including the 170sqm Presidential Suite, offering views of the Cathedral-on-the-Blood and the Iset River.

Event space comes in at 2,500sqm, including a 600sqm pillar-free ballroom, five meeting rooms and a boardroom.

"Russia remains a major growth market for Hyatt and we are very proud to be the first five-star hotel operators in the Ural region," said Hyatt Hotels & Resorts (EMEA) managing director Gebhard Rainer.

The Regency Ekaterinburg is the second Hyatt property in Russia, following Ararat Park Hyatt Moscow.

Additional Hyatt development plans in the country include Grand Hyatt Moscow Residences & Spa, the first phase of which will open this year, with 18 exclusive residences for long term rental, a Hyatt Pure spa and a signature restaurant.
