Grass Roots Eventcom has hired former head of global event management at Roche, Mark Handforth, to help the agency expand into the international healthcare market.

Handforth joins Grass Roots Eventcom as global healthcare development director.

His role will include ensuring the agency remains up to date on compliance regulations, investigating partnerships with key industry associations and considering potential acquisition opportunities for the business.

Handforth will be based in Grass Roots' Marlow office and, as part of the senior management team, will report to Grass Roots Eventcom managing director Nick Bender.

"Mark brings 20 years of wide-ranging events experience, primarily in the healthcare sector, which will be a valuable addition to our business," said Bender.

" While we already have extensive experience of delivering events and communications within this area, under Mark's direction we intend to develop an international proposition."
