PCO Meeting Makers has announced a host of association account wins, which it claims is evidence of the sector's buoyancy.

It has won a pitch against four other PCOs to organise the International Symposium on Myelodysplastic Syndromes, which is anticipated to attract 1,000 delegates and will be held at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) in 2011.

This win was followed by Meeting Makers' appointment, on the back of a competitive pitch, to run the 7th International Hydrogen Gas Hydrates Conference for 500 delegates in Edinburgh in 2011.

Meeting Makers business development manager Laurie Scott said the company had also recently won a four-year place on the Scottish Government event-management framework, and was appointed to organise the 5th Biennial International Primary Care Conference for 1,000 delegates at the EICC in 2012.

"We aren't seeing any change in the association market despite the recession," said Scott. "There are still a lot of tenders coming through."
