Event UK - the UK-focused Birmingham sister show to Confex - is being put back by a week to coincide with National Meetings Week (NMW).

The show will now take place at the NEC from September 22-23 September.

The partnership also includes NMW organiser Visit Britain and focuses on event UK's corporate talent contest Next Big Thing. The move is designed to chime with Visit Britain's current 'buy British' campaign.

As revealed by C&IT last year, this year's Next Big Thing will include regional heats in Liverpool, Birmingham and London.

Confex group director Duncan Reid said: "We're looking to present a joined-up effort with NMW and Visit Britain. Through The Next Big Thing we're looking to present a more public-facing marketing campaign, as well as an opportunity to take the Event UK brand into the regions and direct to UK event organisers."
