Baltimore Convention Center: due to host the shelved AIBTM show

Reed Travel Exhibitions (RTE) has been forced to postpone the launch of its new US show due to the worldwide economic downturn.

AIBTM - its long-planned move into the North American event trade show market - was scheduled to go live in Baltimore in June 2010.

RTE meetings and incentive events group exhibition director Paul Kennedy made the announcement at the company's AIME show in Australia earlier today.

"We have decided to delay the launch until 2011 or 2012 because of the macro-economic climate," Kennedy said. "We look forward to staging this event in Baltimore but later. I am very sure about the health of the meetings industry and I am very sure about the health of our portfolio but this would be a bad time for such a major investment."
