Von Essen's Verta heliport property on track for September

First London outpost marks beginning of 'Metropolitan Set' for Von Essen

Von Essen's Hotel Verta at the London Heliport is on track to launch in September, claiming to be "the first integrated hotel heliport solution in the world".

The Thames-side venue in Battersea is Von Essen's first in London and the first of its new urban ‘Metropolitan Set' collection.

It is designed to emulate what the hotel group calls "the halcyon days of aviation". It will include a lobby with a double height atrium with a sweeping staircase to the mezzanine level.

The property will have 70 rooms, including 14 suites, furnished in a classically modern style, each with original artwork.

A dedicated conference and events level - Business by Verta - will have capacity for up to 200 delegates, and offer panoramic views along the Thames.

Elsewhere, the Patrisey restaurant will feature traditional English and modern European dishes and will offer views of the river from its terrace area.

The Vertilon bar and lounge on the mezzanine level will be in gold and black marble, again with views of the Thames, while the Falconbrook spa will have a sanarium, heated lounges, steam room, sauna, gym and signature spa treatments.

Hotel Verta will be unveiled to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the heliport - London's only commercial heliport.
