Visit London has recruited former Intercontinental Hotels Group meetings and events account manager Emmy Cahoon to the post of event solutions executive.
Cahoon's remit includes finding venues for clients, as well as creating and managing events as part of the event solutions team, which provides free and impartial advice to planners and companies.
"Coming from a sales background and having worked for numerous London hotels allows me to understand both the client and partner's mutual needs and how we can satisfy them," she said. "I'm excited to join Visit London, especially with the London 2012 Olympics coming up."
Visit London event solutions team manager Fiona Plumpton said the organisation had received a "massive increase" in enquiries due to the destination hosting the 2012 Olympics.
"Therefore, the event solutions team is incredibly important to making sure those enquiries are dealt with quickly and efficiently," she said.
