Grass Roots Eventcom has topped the agency league table in C&IT's largest ever industry survey, State of the Industry 2009.

The agency, formed by the merger of Maritz and Grass Roots last year, achieved event-based turnover of £33.8m in 2008, which put it ahead of all other UK-based agencies surveyed by C&IT.

State of the Industry 2009 is C&IT's biggest ever survey, with 60 agencies and 50 corporate respondents.

The report ranks the top 50 performing agencies. The top 10 by event-based turn-over are:
